Specialized Recording Equipment-EARS

The EARS recorder module is a new and inexpensive alternative for larger, more expensive, low capacity recorders. Housed in a module no bigger than a desk-top telephone, the EARS recorder stores up to 2560 channel-minutes of radio or telephone audio in FLASH memory. Recorded audio records, including instant re-play, are obtainable via the built-in TCP/IP interface and accompanying software.  In small ATC environments, the EARS recorder module will meet the FAA  15-day retention requirement internally; but additionally the EARS can be set to automatically transfer, on a scheduled basis, the voice files [File Transfer Protocol or “FTP”] to your ATC facility in-house computer-server; so in reality, audio data can be retained for many months if desired. The EARS Digital Recorder Module is available for many thousands of dollars less than more traditional digital recorders, ranging in price from $ 2600.00 to $4900.00.   Additional ‘EARS-net’ software is also an available option.
