Dec. 10, 2004 EARS Digital Recorder to Meet FAR 121.711 Requirements The EARS digital recorder is now a mature product and available to meet your lower capacity recording needs in the aviation environment. Available in Single or 4- Channel configurations, the EARS logging recorder is designed to capture VHF voice audio [or telephone] and store it in FLASH memory. Suitable for out-station and Hub applications, capacities range up to 2560 channel minutes using plug in FLASH modules, though 320 or 640 channel minutes are normally suitable to meet most 15 or 30 day requirements. Each VOX activated recording is date and time stamped and presented on your adjacent PC using standard PC Browser logic and the accompanying software is provided with each EARS unit..nothing extra to buy. The EARS unit works with Tone, local, 2-wire or 4-wire radio control systems and secured IP address, Passcode and Password. The EARS unit is designed to be TCP/IP network compatible and includes a built-in hub, network up-link and all associated software for the unit to operate as a node off your network. So, essentially this means that all recordings at any distant EARS configured station can be remotely audited and played back at SOC as simple WAV files. Additionally, each EARS unit can be programmed to send all its recorded files back to a central server on a daily basis, or sent back to a 20-20 Hindsight Recorder Server. The EARS will even send a ‘heartbeat’ notification so that one central location can be sure of continued operation, even with alarm options. Housed in a package 1/3 the size of your laptop computer,this is a significant improvement over past cassette-driven machines and technologies.
